Wellbeing

At Fingal Head, we know that student wellbeing is the foundation for success at school and in life. When children feel safe, respected and supported, they are more engaged and ready to learn. That’s why wellbeing is woven into everything we do.

Through our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) approach, we actively teach and celebrate our school values of being Safe, Respectful and Active Learners. These values guide how we learn and play each day, helping students build confidence, form strong relationships and thrive in all areas of school life.

How we support student wellbeing

Wellbeing is woven into daily life at Fingal Head. We support each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical health through:

  • caring teachers who help students feel welcome and included
  • access to counsellors, psychologists and specialist staff
  • programs that encourage healthy choices, positive behaviour and strong social skills
  • guidance for students who are new or moving between year levels
  • clear expectations around behaviour and respect
  • staff who know each child and partner with families
  • consistent and fair expectations that support each individual while honouring our collective school community
  • individual health care plans where required
  • open, ongoing communication about student wellbeing
